The Werribee River Estuary at Werribee
South is part of the significant Western wetlands which extends from Altona to Avalon
Beach.
The Werribee River Estuary provides
good recreation fishing with anglers catching Black Bream, King George Whiting and
Snapper.
Port Phillip Bay
Many anglers descend to Port Phillip
Bay one of Australia’s largest tidal lagoons covering around two thousand square
kilometres and having a maximum depth of over 30 meters.
Port Phillip Bay is home to many table
fish including Flathead, Whiting, Bream, Snapper, Gummy Shark, Squid and Garfish
to name only a few.

Access to Port Phillip Bay via the
Werribee South Boat Ramp facilities is easy. The ramps are managed by the Australian
Volunteer Coast Guard during peak periods and assist with traffic management and
all your safe boating needs.
